Red Hook is an industrial neighborhood in Brooklyn, set directly on the water. Not only can you get breathtaking views of lower Manhattan, it also is a great place for your palate to explore. Check out the best places to eat and drink in Red Hook, Brooklyn.
People come from all over to get their burger. If you like a salty steakhouse style burger (I do!), this is your joint. Red Hook Tavern has an old school vibe, a no frills atmosphere and one of the best burgers around.
Tiny distillery making small batches of bourbon, vodka and whiskey. You can stop in for a flight or a handcrafted cocktail.
Coupling these two together because they are right next door from one another – but completely different. Brooklyn Crab serves up fresh seafood while Hometown BBQ serves, well, BBQ. Have a taste of both or try one and come back for the other. Both being staples in Red Hook and neither disappoint on places to eat, drink and hang!
Widow Jane whiskey and bourbon has always been a fan favorite of mine, so naturally I had to visit. They have their distillery close by that you can tour, or you can just stop by Botanica for expertly made cocktails (which I did). It’s a great date night spot too as it’s a little dark and sexy and the cocktails are superb.
One of the best dive bars in NY, Sunny’s has been around since the 1890s. Not much has really changed with the bar, in the best way possible. Great dive bar with all the good things that come with dive bars (people, drinks, atmosphere).
You’ll know you have arrived at Steve’s when you see the line; don’t worry, it moves quick. Serving personal to large key lime pies to pies dipped in chocolate. Get the ones dipped in chocolate, they are amazing! Grab a treat and go walk the pier for views of the Freedom tower!
Red Hook Winery / Strong Rope Brewery
How can you ever dislike a place that has a brewery and a distillery within walking distance of one another?! Personally, we tried both, because why the heck not! Both indoor and outdoor with places to sit directly on the water. Fun tip, Strong Rope is a fun spot to go during sunset for some hues and views.
