Weekend Guide: Las Vegas

Sin City, huh?! Well, gear up for a good time. This post is about where I went for a long weekend, so depending on the hotel you stay in, your experience can absolutely vary. Check out my weekend guide to Las Vegas - enjoy responsibly!

Where to Stay:

Honestly, anywhere on the strip. Choose a hotel depending on how much exploring you wish to do. A lot of the bigger hotels have everything you want; theatres, restaurants, clubs, casinos, pools, etc. If you want to chill out and not leave your hotel, you absolutely can do that. For your first time in Vegas, I would recommend getting out a little to see some of the attractions and hotels, or don’t, whichever ya want!

Where to Eat and Drink:

Las Vegas has some of the best food in the nation, this is obviously my favorite part about Sin City. There is a lot to choose from, but here are some that were my favorites.

Nobu in Caesar’s Palace: it’s Nobu. Head to Caesar’s Palace before dinner to walk around the shops, grab a drink at Vanderpump Cocktail Garden, then go order the crispy rice and all the fresh fish at Nobu.

Carversteak in Resorts World: if a great steak dinner is what you are craving, Carversteak will kick that craving. The service was as impeccable as the beautifully carved steaks. They even have a martini cart serving up cold martinis tableside – dinner and a show! So Las Vegas.

Tacos El Gordo: If you’re looking for a casual grab and go, Tacos El Gordo is the place for authentic tacos. They have a variety of tacos and do it all so well. The El Pastor Vampiro was incredible, I may have went here twice.

Famous Foods in Resorts World: This is the food court in Resorts World, but it’s so much more. It focuses on Asian cuisine but has a variety of other options as well. I found myself here twice getting the same thing; pork bao buns from Ah Chun Shandong Dumpling.

Vanderpump Cocktail Garden: transporting you to an outdoor garden, this Instagram worthy spot is as eye catching as their fancy cocktails.

Alle Lounge on 66: located on the 66th floor in the Conrad hotel, it has views on views in a romantic setting. Great spot for an after dinner cocktail or date spot to sip on delicious cocktails in fancy glassware and take in the views. Recommend making a reservation if you want a table.

What to Do:

Pools: some of the best parts of a stay in Vegas are the hotel pools. You can chill out in a cabana, you can make it a day party with a DJ or do both. I’ve done the day party scene at Marquee (in the Cosmo) and AYU (in Resorts World) and both were fantastic and great options. If you’re a more chill pool person, don’t miss the Infinite club lounge at Resorts World offering cabanas overlooking their infinity pool.

Visit Old Las Vegas: yes, the strip is always the place to be, but if you want a complete opposite scene (and cheaper drinks) head to Freemont Street. About a 15min drive from the strip, Freemont Street has the spirit of Vegas but on a budget. You can sore over downtown on their zip line, check out different casinos, be entertained by the talent on the streets and grab some bites.

Hope this helps, enjoy your trip!
