PSA: do not sleep on Idaho. We stayed in Ketchum, ID to ski at Bald Mountain, but the town is so much more. With rich history and a small town ski town charm, Ketchum surprised me by how much I fell in love with the town. And the best part - the wide variety of cuisine. Below are the best restaurants we visited in Ketchum.
Italian upscale restaurant and wine bar pouring out fresh dishes. Everything from the ambiance, to the staff, to the wine was molto benne. Great spot for date night and definitely make reservations in advance.
Open for breakfast and lunch, this is a MUST visit. We went for a good old Sunday brunch and ended up back the day before we left. And we got the same thing. It’s a small, cozy hearty place that serves up great food. We were obsessed with their Cuban sandwich as it’s not traditional. Made with carnitas, jalapenos and a mustard aoili – I wish I had it right now.
The Ketchum Restaurant. Open since 1940, lines walls with all sorts of animals that reside in the mountains and plains, this is a Ketchum staple. Since under a moose head and enjoy some great steak, a potato the size of a small child and take in the sights. Some say it’s haunted at night…
Innovative American cuisine with an open concept chef’s kitchen is another fantastic restaurant. Its rustic yet modern style with an eclectic menu that will give your taste buds a ride. Don’t sleep on their homemade pasta either. Make a ressie in advance.
A dive bar that epitomizes dive bars – but in the best way. Beer cans line the walls, the smell of grilling meat in the air and lots of happy people. This is a great spot for a little après after a day on the mountain, try and get there a little before 4 if you want a seat. I can go on about how great of a dive bar it is (made my list on this post) but their burger is why they made the list. Grilled to perfection and the best place for a burger (IMO) if you’re searching for one in town.
Located on Bald Mountain, accessible by the gondola, is a great cozy place to bask in the views of the Rockies and enjoy some food. Known for their fondue (which I highly recommend), you can stop here mid day while you’re on the mountain or just come up for dinner. Either way, its a must see and try – make a ressie.
