Red Hook is located in the northwestern part of Brooklyn set against the seaside. Filled with warehouses and shipping yards all with water views of Fi-Di, it's almost feels like a whole other world in some ways. Although a bit remote, there are still great places within the neighbothood not to miss. Below is my recommendation on how to spend a day in Red Hook, Brooklyn.
Grab lunch
With great options close to the bay, you can get a sense of the seaside vibe Red Hook gives out. On Reed Street, you will find Brooklyn Crab and Hometown BBQ – both equally as delicious, just depending on what you are in the mood for. Craving seafood, craving smoked meats? Maybe get both? Definitely a great place to start you day.
Swing by A Winery or Brewery (or both)
Set right on the bay, Red Hook Winery and Strong Rope brewery can be a lovely afternoon destination. With the option of outdoor seating, take in the breeze while sipping on some tasty drinks.
Grab a sweet treat and walk the Pier
Steve’s Authentic Key Lime Pies are as good as it gets. Serving up whole pies to individual chocolate dipped key lime pies on a stick – highly recommend the white chocolate with raspberry sauce. Grab a cold treat on a hot day and mosey on over to the pier just steps away and bask in the views.
End your day with a drink at Sunny’s
A true Red Hook staple, Sunny’s has been around since the 1890’s; and so has the decor. A true dive-bar that welcomes everyone to the neighborhood with a drink and (sometimes) live music.
